Hook em! (Or if you meant Tennessee or Toronto... do something else to em!) Thanks for the tips about steel and concrete, as well as the admonition to not work outside of my field of expertise. As much as I would prefer a water job (and applied to countless number of them), unfortunately this is the one that a) is close enough that I don't have to move, b) actually pays, and c) is interested in hiring me. I did not mislead them with my resume, and stated clearly my majors/concentrations/classes/experience. In addition to gaining experience, I need income in order to payoff the loans leftover from my UG and the loans I will undertake next year for my masters. As for water jobs being in higher demand, I think we might have a case of "the grass is always greener on the other side", because to me it seems structural jobs are more common. Either way, thanks for the tips!

Thanks! I'll look into the material science business. I hope I'm not the only person here who feels like after graduation I wasn't prepared to actually do much real work. My uni was much more research oriented, but I was also a fan of doing the least amount of work necessary to pass and then forgetting everything :(

I just hope at the internship they don't mind training me a bit... I'm deathly afraid they'll come and ask me to do stuff I don't know how to do and then treat me like useless weight from then on, instead of helping me.
