Don't need the liquid very clean. Just need to reduce the level of dissociated ions in the solution from roughly 15g/L to 5g/L or so.

I see.

New question.

What would be a low energy method of removing ionic compounds, such as salts, from a liquid in an anaerobic environment, other than evaporation of the liquid? Bonus round: a method that would also leave those salts easily extracted once dry for storage without much additional processing.

If humans were still subjected to the same selective pressures over a similar length of time, possibly.

However, there is far too much genetic drift in modern populations to draw conclusions from older isolated human populations, especially with such radically different selective pressures on modern humans.

I was aware of dialysis paper, but I didn't know if there were similar materials with different porosity.

Very well. Felt bad about you being alone in your thread.

How would I go about selecting a semi permeable membrane suited for filtering out polysaccharides and larger polypeptides? Availability in a thin film tube form easily tied off into sacks is a plus.

Food crops grow in microgravity. They've been experimenting with them for decades.

Also, other planets have plenty of gravity for your imaginary gravity based crops.

Doesn't an infinity become finite as soon as you quantify it? Therefore, you can't compare an infinite number to a finite number, but only all the numbers up to a finite number inclusive/exclusive of a set of the infinite number?

[Negative infinity]<1

Wouldn't this be true since the negative infinity is only inclusive of all integers less than zero?

Still have Frank and Hal in a few of my chat contact lists. They message me every once in a while. Been thinking about giving the program another shot now that I have a bit of cash to throw at research.

Thinking about getting into waste resource management.

Vaguely remember that. I searched a few articles that you posted, and figured you were a well programmed ad-bot or something. I actually read through entire newsletter summaries after work (got off between 10pm and 1am back then), and it could go until one or two am before I was done.

Fuck. Life was awesome back them.

Seen the marsdrive facebook group? I had some lulz in it, ripped apart some old dude that was pushing robotic exploration all day every day, then ragequit after everyone agreed with me.

Doesn't mean he can't go ask a pharmacist. All he'd be asking is that the pharmacist do his job.

I was one of the youngest members of the Founder's Circle of MarsDrive. Just a bunch of old men and has beens having a dick waving contest between delta vee calculations and crying over rocket defunding. I was working on agriculture and regolith based manufacture, but nobody gave a fuck, so I got the fuck out.

I'd take the first shot over there, though.

There would eventually be enough power generation to allow a very slow data download a few hours a day. Could still communicate with earth fairly easily, which isn't much different than my life today.

People said the same thing about the interstate system in the 1930's in defense of passenger rail.

Fact:
You can't travel by car at 250mph on interstate highways.

I agree that there is all sorts of sillyness involved in recent attempts, but if a system can outspeed interstate highways, and out comfort and convenience flight while keeping cost to the consumer somewhere between the two, it does have appeal.

The auto train is an intereting approach that removes the stigma of rail leaving the passenger immobile at the destination. It would likely be even more popular if it travelled faster than an average of highway speeds. Such ideas could realistically improve the appeal of high speed interstate rail.

A direct line to detroit is stupid as fuck.

HSR from chicago to philadelphia with a stop in Toledo, OH makes more sense.

The wolverine line already covers it.

Here you go, OP, I found you the state or arkansas. Good luck on the other 47.

Too many variables between the two sets of students, and not enough sets of students to normalize the population.

Just telling them that they're being recorded and their behavior later reviewed will likely tank offtask behavior and boost engagement and participation. They don't know that you're too tired to actually check that crap later. Scare them into learning.
