OP is clearly an asspie fuck, but he had a solid under thought.

Let's call this business - Selection Services

Anon makes a profile on Selection Services and posts his resume and references etc. He takes the HTML 5 test and scores in the 98th percentile. He is also well versed in Python and scores in the 92nd percentile.

Say Google posts a job wanting an applicant that is in the 95th percentile or better for HTML 5 and in the 90th percentile for Python.

Anon and Google are now 'matched' and the Google representative now looks over anon's resume and other qualifications and invites him to an interview or not.

OP you are completely retarded, and have no business sense.

This is just a repackaged online college.

What would be actually be marketable would be to designate percentiles for ACTUAL skills. Not just hand out a degree. This way, you are making money off the applicant taking the test, and/or the company depending on a few factors.

For example, have a test to determine ability of someone in Java, C++, graphic animation, or somebody's ability as to be a financial analyst. You could do a whole myriad of generic positions and then work with large corporations to design specific tests for their employment needs. It would end up saving them time and money, and give them an idea of the ability of the applicant in comparison to the rest of the group--specifically tailored to the job they are hiring for. We aren't talking about bullshit personality tests, we are talking about actual skills that can be compared across everybody who took the test.

Of course it takes somebody from Harvard Business School to turn this idea from shit into something that could be huge.

There is no point in trying to disprove someone who doesn't understand the simple concept of how the Fed has a major hand in inflation or deflation.

It's just as how I would never bother proving 1+1 = 2

Plebeian. Try going to a real university before you try to discuss anything relatively intellectual. You're wrong. Deal with it.

You know nothing.

What university do you go to OP?

>Chem E

Impressive. If you go to a somewhat decent university you are probably going through the "weeder" courses. Every good school has them, especially for a major like engineering. If you can get past these classes, the rest of your college career will be cake.

Can't tell you how many times I've seen freshman and sophomore girls crying their eyes out because a "weeder course" raped them in the ass.

Your question is retarded to begin with. The individual country controls the money supply and their specific monetary policy. In America's case, that's the Feds. They could inflate or deflate the currency at will.

A far better question would be what SHOULD you do in a recession.

Fucking qualitative economics is absolute shit and prepares you for nothing but grad school.

So few schools actually do anything quantitative. At Stanford, economics majors are a math class away or two from a math minor. That's how you do it.

Hahahaahahaha. A company like that is a bigger scam than a university.

Who the hell is ever going to hire you with an online degree? Though you might charge significantly less money, the result is fewer job prospects than if you had went to a shitty state school.

Hahaha alright, I'll admit it. I've been trolled. You are very good sir. I almost believed for a second that someone on this board would be arrogant enough to believe they know better than Harvard, Yale, Princeton etc. when it comes to selecting intellectual prowess.

This is exactly why we don't take anyone seriously unless they go to a top school.

Do you really think the best universities would use it as a criteria of admission if it didn't tell them valuable information about the potential of the applicant?

Unless of course, you are implying that you can better identify academic talent than Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Stanford etc.

Seems like I'm arguing with some people who didn't get a score they liked and subsequently didn't end up at the best uni...

Also, to say it predicts neither intelligence nor academic potential is inordinately dismissive and actually a bit hilarious due to the inherent insinuation you are making that you know more about academic ability than the best universities in the world.

Perhaps not directly related to academic performance (any smart kid can get a good score on the SAT but just not give a shit about school work) but it's definitely a good indicator of intellectual potential.

I doubt it's a coincidence that both Mark Zuckerberg and Bill Gates received 1590/1600.

The whole point of high school is to get that idea of grinding academic work into your head.

SAT/ACTs and your actual application allow your university to determine whether you are actually bright, or just slaved away your high school career at a desk.

You should be worrying more about what school they go to as opposed to their major.

Who gives a flying shit if you have a PhD from a subpar school?

Few, if anyone, on this board could land a job like that. First off, they typically require social prowess and second off, in order to even get an interview you would have had to gone to a top school.

Depends on your personality. Some people test better when they are more relaxed or calm while others test better when they are anxious and pumped up.

Before an exam, I always listen to classical music and then once in the classroom I force myself to get an adrenaline rush. Works every time.

Quite frankly, a lot of students here at Stanford struggle with engineering because they always thought they were good at math because they could solve for x, or because they did each homework assignment twice over.

What's really funny is watching them excel at typically the first two math classes here because nearly everyone in any major has to take them, ergo they are similar to high school, but once they get into the real math classes/engineering classes the exams test concepts in a way that are obvious to anyone who understands the reasoning behind it, but if you just understand the formula, you are screwed.

PS. It's Asian and Indian students who struggle

8th grade huh? Do you guys know matrices yet? I don't think so. If not the best way is substitution or combinations.

However, once you learn matrices I highly suggest using them whenever applicable. If you go into any respectable field, matrices are your best friend.

Because Stanford is not a tech school. It prepares you for a career.

One of the best examples I can give is when one of my good friends called me up for some help with his internship. He goes to MIT, yet a vast majority of MIT students in STEM fields never take a writing class in their 4 years.

He was tasked with a project by his boss, and he did the math and calculations, yet had no idea how to present his findings to his boss. Luckily for him, Stanford requires us to take 3 writing classes, and one of them tailored specifically for your major and what people in your field are looking for. I knew exactly how his boss wanted the project presented and I guided him through it. He's graduating this year and was the only MIT student to receive an offer because his reports actually made sense to his boss.

Trust me, when I heard I had to take writing classes, I was pissed. Until I realized Stanford makes them as "little englishy" as possible, and more about the practicality of communication. No analyzing dead people's poetry--just straight business.
