This gets me too. I used to go to a southern Baptist school and people would ask me this during debates. I would explain how evolution is just the selection of beneficial traits through natural selection, and it continues even today.
"Then why have we stopped evolving?" they say, smug looks creeping onto their faces.
I guess this mentality is why so many people thought the world was flat. It's just too big or slow or different a concept for their tiny little heads.
