how am I supposed to find the hybridization for hydroxide (OH-)? I would have thought the hybridization would be SP2 . I drew out the lewis structure and I got 12 valence electrons. I hope that made sense, it's hard for me to explain exactly what I did. Does anyone know where I went wrong though?

yeah, this is exactly the same thing that is happening to me now. I'm 0.3 below the cutoff for an A but really, I shouldn't be here!

>get final English test back
>A-
>"fuck if I just got one more mark I would have got an A on this and it would have gave me an A in the class"
>go home that night
>check my profs. addition
>he missed adding a mark
OH MAI GOD I DID IT I GOT AN "A"
>email him asking if he will be at the college the next day
>receive email: "Sorry, I am leaving on vacation tomorrow and your marks are already recorded"

.... wow

yeah that's what I was thinking, because they told me 50 cents per day and I told them it shouldn't be $75 then. I'll look into it more before paying the money

>> No.4089685 [View]

wow well this sucks, if I have to end up paying this I'll probably just sell my xbox

it wasn't written down anywhere, I had absolutely no idea what it was. Is there usually some kind of library contract you sign into when you become a student or something?

>October 1st check out book from college library for a paper
>librarian never told me a due date
>done paper in two weeks and completely forget about book
>7 weeks later, try to check out another book just before the library closes at 6:00 PM
>told I have a book that is overdue and I owe the library $75 in late fees
HOLY FUCK I DON'T HAVE MONEY LIKE THAT TO SPEND ON A BOOK
>panic, rush home and get book from but the library is closed for the long weekend
>return the book first thing monday morning
>get home that day with a letter from the mail: Library Notice The following materials are now assumed lost and a replacement cost has been billed to your account... Lost item fee: $150.00
... I feel like crying, how can I get around this without paying $150.00 for a book that I don't even have anymore

it really bothers me that copper's 4s orbital is only half full. Why is this? my textbook doesn't give a clear explanation at all. It just mentions that chromium and copper have low energy filling patterns and they are exceptions to the normal filling pattern.

yeah, I've done it once too it's not like I'm some health freak. When I did it though I acknowledged that there were some consequences.

This is about the only argument I can think of and it seems weak

I would not recommend anyone to base any sort of decision off of information they find on 4chan. Biology is a science, I'm not saying that because I like Biology in particular, I'm saying that because it's a fact. The only reason people on this board belittle Biology is because they are not satisfied with who they are as people. They are probably better than average at math related subjects and use their talent as a crutch to compensate for their inabilities. It's sad that a website like 4chan attracts these types of people because personally, I think the quality of discussions that takes place here suffers because of this.

my biggest pet peeve is when kids on the internet try to argue that smoking weed has no negative effects on your health "hurr durr I googled smoking weed and there wasn't anything that said it was bad". Seriously though, you're ingesting THC in the form of hot smoke. What is one good scientific reason why marijuana is harmful?

This response was correct. Whether it was a guess, he knew the move before hand, or he actually thought it up himself, I don't know.

I don't want to flood /sci/ with a thread almost identical to this. I have a calculus 1 test tomorrow. and have 60 questions to do. Would you recommend that I do the questions and look up the answers if I have troubles, or study my notes and then do the questions later. Please no: "cramming will never help". It's my only option at this point

/sci/. Are you a chess prodigy? Do you have an exceptional gift that separates you intellectually from 99% of the population?

Bobby Fischer is playing the black pieces and Donald Byrne is playing the white pieces in this grand champion match. It is black's turn to play.

I challenge you to make the next move. If any of you make the same move that Fischer did, you have a true gift. (NO CHEATING)
