At 20 years, gliese would be simulating the weather on earth, at 40 years, that simulation could be returned to earth, if gliese can simulate faster than 40 years, then earth can receive weather reports faster than it can transmit the data and faster than the instantenous generation from it's own computer.

Furthermore, since the variables being transmited and the variables outputted by the function, both computers could be linked to create and infinite simulation an arbitrary distance into the future even when the computing power is finite.

by chance, do you know what symmetry is?

theres nothing actually quantum about this system, it just happens that a quantum computer would likely computer the earth function faster than a standard silicon one.

You can remove quantum computing from it if you posit a standard computer the size of say, jupiter.

uh..thats not how words work.

You're just too stubborn to accept that people tend to use words that define reality.

so, billions and billions of stars; trillions and trillions of planets, 200 years, and all for a speculative chance so meager that by the time they get there, they'll receive a "OMG guiz, we're sorry, it's actually nothing"

Yes, but if it's not transparent, then either it will be cracked or it will be arbitrarily constructed.

I bring it up because that'd be the problem with a government controlling it, as it'd likely be better not be transparent, but then you're giving a few bureaucrats unwieldy power.

I suggest you start by determining an apoclypse based on the decoding of the first of all african's DNA that revealed that the twentifieth chromosome will spell the end of civilization and all untrue genecists will unbind their DNA in the time of the unraveling.

tl;dr gene apocolypse, just make sure you choose a date no other cult chooses.
