Yes but if you believe the big bang theory, then the origin of the moon can only come from the after effects of that "explosion". The size and movement of the moon is the product of sheer chance, and the fact we see it eclipse the sun like it does is again, a product of sheer chance, we just so happen to be born at the "right time" to see it.
