a while back i realized that when i think of outer space and other planets i think of them as different compartments or separate spaces, like there's some kind of barrier between Earth and Space and they're different places. so i tried actively thinking of space and Earth and the Sun as all existing in the same area with basically nothing meaningful separating them and weirdly it changed how i thought about them. the fact that we're floating in an empty void actually became disturbing.

looking at that video of the sun reminds me of that
