Why is there so much public health contempt bias against smokers killing everyone around them with shs and not barbecuers or firewood burners when those produce virtually the same class of carcinogens?

>> No.9976594

Maybe because those people don't put the smoke in your face and are not as annoying. I don't think smokers are annoying but I think they're still a bit dumb

Sorry I forgot I'm barbecuing right next to people in crowded places

because the /truth/ campaign was a publically funded advertisement serial designed to make smoking seem gross and deadly and unattractive

somehow the government dollars got diverted toward a mind-control program to dictate peoples' behavior, despite their total acceptance of drinking, drinking caffeinated beverages, and high-sugar foods. all of which have deleterious effects even beyond smoking

i do not know what economic / societal / elite factors were at work here, but somehow the scientific community (who used to mostly be smokers) got recruited onto the propaganda machine

in all likelihood we will find that high fructose corn syrup is much more negatively correlated with life expectancy than smoking cigarettes

What I learned from this post is that jews are reponsible for ban of smoking in restaurants.

Thanks /sci/.

I think you're probably right about that last part. The British Doctors study, which is an exhaustive long term study of a variety of factors impacting human health, shows that there is not statistical difference in the life expectancy of some who smokes as a youth, but quits before age 35. One can only guess that poor diet choices as a you can be much more harmful in the long term, you only have to look at all of the people under 35 with diabetes for pretty good evidence.

Where I come from, we only BBQ in the summer months. And even then we only do it like like 1 time a week. Smokers smoke every 15 mins to 2 hours and they are everywhere, doing it all year long.

And yeah, we SHOULD try to lower our use of firewood and coal.

I'd say the real reason is that the smoke strangles, btw vaping fixes it to a large degree.

How about medication of the general public via additives to municipal water? There's quite a long list of chems put into the drinking water after all. At least one of them is stated to be for a medical purpose.

Because America uses its anti smoking campaigns in lieu of real public health programs. Amerifats roll around coughing conspicuously and pretending any whiff of smoke cuts years of life off their lard-asses.

Congrats on the relatively low smoking rates but still abysmal first-world average lifespan.

>imagine you’re an enormous swaddled baby, and you find the smell of burning tobacco foul

This is the truest indicator of the basedboy: smoke sends them into a coughing fit, prior to last year their mother had kept them in a sterile and manicured environment. Likely their mom never let them eat peanut butter, either, for fear of a fake peanut allergy.

No, but same alleged carcinogens and 'toxins' aka the primary excuse used to harass smokers. Are you reading impaired?
