It's all about context and who you are in the company of.

She swore and an elderly chap didn't so much as take offense but just cautioned it to avoid using that language. It could have simply apologised or ignored it but instead escalated with an even more offensive comment which it is hard that anyone wouldn't take offense at.

It showed complete lack of professionalism and disdain in the public sphere to someone else and quite rightfully shows an immature manner not one which most professional people would take lightly unless under certain contexts e.g. informally, being buddies etc.
