If that's you truly think, then explain to me madame curie. She is the only person to this day to win 2 noble prizes in 2 different fields. And surprise surprise, she's a women. There are studies that the average guy is smarter than the average girl, but in higher level education, all is equal to some extent.

What's the difference between technology and engineering ?

>> No.9930833

technology has heavier reliance on theoretical science

Technology is about understanding and applying technology that has already been developed. Engineering is about understanding fundamental engineering knowledge and finding new technology or applications.

For example a chemical engineering technologist is a 2-3 year diploma where you study applications of chemical technology. A typical final year exam question would be selecting appropriate equipment that works on a known system.
A chemical engineering degree is a 4 year degree programme focusing on fundamental engineering science as well as other disciplines. A typical final year exam question would be designing a reactor that works on a new system.

Another example is an information technologist which studies how to use computers and software, but doesn't study computer engineering or software development.

Technologists are more employable and in general "the STEM shortage" refers to a lack of cheap technologists.

? From the quality of this post I'd bet that the average female stem student probably does more stem than you will ever do.

Sad thing is that companies hire women to do the latter to get those sweet government grants. A couple of deadbeats shitting up the office is worth it.

some girls in STEM are like that, but for every one of them there's 10 autistic guys who never shower, don't know their field, and talk about how much they like Japan. they're just as unqualified
as a guy my big gripe right now is women in science get a lot more support and handholding from advisors. which is fine, but guys need it too.
