Conservafags will never accomplish anything.

You realize all of academia is liberal, right? And that conservatives have traditionally been the ones opposed to new tech?

40% Classical Liberal/Libertarian
4% Conservative/Neither

Aren't scientists supposed to be unbiased in their work? I believe conservs are more for improving existing technology to peak efficiency before discovering new technologies.

Not necessarily true. Fiscal conservatives know that a good economy is built on technological advancement.

It's the social conservatives that want to stop anything that's uncomfortable for them.

>> No.992593

Liberals would only oppose transhumanism if it's used as a tool for social stratification. Example, when having shit replaced with robotics first becomes available to the public, only the wealthy would be able to afford it. Imagine an oligarchy of people who can live an extra 200 years or have super human physical ability. At least classes at the moment are basically equal when it comes to biology.

OP here I was talking about liberalism in general.

After a lot of people become transhuman, though, there won't be a NEED for food, or shelter, or many other things. Health insurance? Nope. Life insurance? Why bother?

Eventually, everyone (well, most people), will be transhuman, and then there won't be much of an economy anymore.

>> No.993012

Conservativefags will never ALLOW transhumanism

also, they would never achieve anything approaching it.

there are incredibly few biochemists who are conservative christians.

the whole creationism does not fly well with the ridiculous amount of primordial information contained in the Human genome (Eg the stuff left over from billions of years of cellular evolution)

mitochondria dont sit well with creationists.

Most scientists working on things that will lead to transhumanism and the like are probably more interested in getting grant money than other political issues. When you're an uploaded mind inhabiting thousands of networks, a lot of issues just stop mattering.
