I just finished an accelerated calc 1 course with an A grade. I have a two week break until I start calc 2. What can I study or practice to prepare for calc 2 in order to get ahead? I usually use Paul's online notes and other related resources for practice problems and study material.

Bro if you just did an accelerated Calc I class and got an A, you don't need to worry about your performance in Calc II. You'll be fine. Practice your algebra skills- That's the trick to all of Calculus honestly. It's the one thing that typically holds people back. The calculus? That's generally not too bad. Simplification is always what trips people up. Know your trig identities, antiderivatives, that sort of thing; stuff you're probably already good with.

American calculus classes are easy as fuck, don't worry. Just do some practice exercises and you are set.

These people want you to fail. You can study calc 2, but brush up on all your trig identities.

Know your trig identities. Not just memorize them, but understand why they mean. And get this book.

Not hard at all. Just know how to “visualize” functions // series and where they converge to. Got a B- in calc 1 and a B+ in calc 2.

Yeah I figured. My professor told us that too. I was also told to learn some more advanced integration techniques too.

Very true dude. This summer has been like a maths boot camp for me. I too precalc and calc 1 in one summer. I didn't waist anytime at all. literally haven't played any video games this summer and just been doing exercises and studying the entire time. And the algebra was the hardest part of it. I think for me doing precalc then immediately the next week starting calc 1 was what was good for me cause the content was fresh in my mind.

I have the 11th edition. Been skimming through the book looking at the calc 2 stuff. I really just want to know what I should be looking into so I can stay ahead of the game. Also I have a really big interest in maths, not pure maths but applied maths. Don't hate on me but I am an engineering major, and yes I know that a lot of people in my field of study are really lazy and have that "Just give me the formula" kind of attitude. I'm not like that. I really love learning about what mathematical concepts mean mathematically as well as what they mean physically.

Every one told me that calc 2 is the hardest out of the 3 classes.

Oh and I forgot to ask. What do I need to know to learn stochastic calculus? I have interests in Finances and stock market type stuff and I need to know stochastic calculus to model systems that behave randomly, for example stocks.
