Short-Term:
>Take a jog and drink a cup of coffee in the morning.
>Do 7 days on NoFap, aka the Friday Fap or Power Fap.
Training:
>Insert yourself into situations and positions where you deal with a lot of random people, groups where you usually won’t deal with the same person twice.
>Go to parties. Use the short-term advice listed prior so you don’t fucking die.
>Practice at bars.
>Maintain good health. Seriously, getting the right amount of sleep, eating a healthy diet, and getting in a proper amount of physical activity helps boost your social ability by a ton.
>Avoid just sticking to friends/family/one person at all times. Diversify who you’re hanging out with. I had friends growing up that only hung out with me and maybe one or two other people and it annihilated their social abilities because they were only used to dealing with me and those very limited others.
>Practice phone skills. Not texting skills, but using your voice on the phone.
Long-Term:
>Eliminate your insecurities. You will always have insecurity, but working on the specific things that you fear people will judge you on will help boost confidence once you reach a threshold where you will no longer worry about those things.

Are you supposed to just go up to random people and start a conversation? Whenever I eventually get forced into interaction, I analyze the encounter for weeks and I spasm and curse myself when alone for it. And I don't forget easily either. Its like the perfect paralyzing combination of OCD/depression/anxiety and its seriously lowering my quality of life. Taking the medication route with this seems necessary imo but idk if they're actually effective.

I've had a lot of trouble with anxiety in the past and you have to find what works for you but here are some things that have helped me.
Counting to four along with your breathing helps me forget the anxiety and recentre myself, sometimes taking myself to the bathroom to be away from whatever is causing me anxiety and losing it can stop a downward spiral, even if you go right back to the same scenario again afterwards. I also started going to parties and smoking weed around the time my anxiety was starting but the weed helped get rid of the anxiety and then I learned that state of mind better and I was able to use the calm mind throughout daily life.
Hope you get better soon OP, it never goes away all the way but once you make some new friends and feel good with them and yourself you'll start feeling a lot better

What helped me most in social situations was to remove the word "nigger" from my vocabulary. Else, they often ended in awkward silence or occasional violence. So try that.

Not that anon, but what has helped me in social situations is to get a little tipsy, like don't get full on loaded, just enough to not give a fuck about talking to people you haven't met before.

Another thing that helps is to take a Lyft or an Uber on a regular basis to things. You're forced to make conversation with a complete stranger, assuming the driver isn't an autism, so the ride isn't awkward. Get a rideshare to the party, you can warm up a bit and also keep yourself from getting a DUI.

This has been working for me so far at least. We're all gonna make it bro
