If by moving you mean in relation to sun, then it's not because the distance isn't changing

Do the earth get warmer when it is closer to the sun?

Speaking of which, what would a human raised on a planet with double Earth's gravity look like/be capable of?

>> No.9829784

>>9829459
We depend on earth's gravity, specifically. Because we engineered ourselves to an environment of earth's constant gravity. It's pretty consistent, no matter where on earth you go. Never dramatic enoguh to be very different. Unlike temperature or oxygen levels.

I imagine a human being raised on a planet with twice earth's gravity woudl live about 50%-75% as long, just from the stressers fucking with protein synthesis and cellular expression, and stress on organs and tissues. It'd be like a sea creature evolved to live on the surface of the ocean suddenly trying to live at twice the crushing pressures.

Now, if we naturally selected so that humans operating in this gravity environment could function same as us, same average heights, twice the strength, that'd mean they could come to our gravity and feel very liberated. Someone that could jump a meter off the ground there could probably manage a whole 6 feet here.

But odds are they'd instead just lose mass in order to preserve what their biology was meant to do and try to get really strong with fewer cells. Like birds did. Light as possible and strong as possible to maximize mobility and deal with the G-forces of just being alive and having mass.
