>>9824691
I don’t know about all that stuff but generally, most universities in the U.S have Presidential scholarships, which is something like 4.0 GPA and 34+ ACT score. And there are some schools that have a scholarship reserved for the 36 ACT score, but most schools will give you their highest academic scholarship if you have the 34. Some of the community college-tier schools will give you a “full ride” if you have a 30. I could’ve gotten paid to go to school with my 36, but I chose a school that just had the 34 minimum, so the only real benefit I got was the publicity/honor.

ACT was 29 in 1989, which apparently converts into a 31 now. Had a terrible GPA in high school so no scholarships for me. A girl in my homeroom had a full ride to Ole Miss but it was rescinded when she scored a 15. Hopefully she retook it and did good enough to keep her scholarship. She was a bit of an airhead but was very good at rote memorization and doing as she was told.

Why do the people in this thread have such high scores? Is the general population really that dumb? How can I be 99th percentile when I don't understand two thirds of the shit on this meme board?

SAT isnt that hard when it comes down to it. People here know pretty specific knowledge about pretty specific subjects, the SAT asks broad questions/concepts. but that being said, yes the general population is really that dumb. Think of your average person. Half the people are dumber than that.
also people here are probably lying.

I got an 1800 the first 4 times I took it. The fifth time I got a 2100. I know some of you are probably taking it right now. Don't give up even if you're not getting the score you want.

High scorers are more likely to post their scores. And a lot of this content on this board depends more on your knowledge, not your intelligence. And yes, the average person is laughably retarded when it comes to reasoning and memory.

You are on a board where many are majoring in/ had majored in the hard sciences. Many schools won't even look at you if you have an average score (which is around 1000-1100 for the new SAT) to get into those programs.

And yes, the general population is hardly capable of doing math, science, and writing beyond a middle school level. This is a fault of the American education system for having standards far below what they should be and not enforcing the ones already in place.
