this is my course schedule for the fall. is it suicide?

Orgo 3 exists?

I dunno, just study hard and don't spend 5 hours masturbating every day, you should make it

>> No.9817229

>>9817219
they are five upper level chemistry classes. It's not like I'm taking calc II and six bullshit gen eds. also you've obviously never taken a science lab before. labs are almost the same time commitment as a class (sometimes more)

>> No.9817237

Labs were the reason I switched to math.
Shit is gay as hell.

>> No.9817245

>>9817226
lol yes it does. at other colleges i've seen it called "advanced organic chemistry". my understanding is that it covers physical organic chem, organometallics, catalysis, rxn kinetics, etc basically everything that was washed out of orgo I and II so brainlet bio majors could pass.

nice, only masturbate 2-3 hours a day so should be good

>>9817237
i'm a math minor and always envy the math majors who don't have to wear long pants and goggles in the hot weather while working with an idiot lab partner and inhaling cancerous solvents for 3 hours at a time. at least physics labs are pretty chill, ie drop a ball and do math about it for the next two hours. us chem majors really get shafted with labs. lab can be fun with non retard lab partner but that's hard to get since there are so many bio kids, pre meds, etc at least in the lower level chem classes

I'm a math minor and also taking some Geo stuff. I have a huge amount of options when I go to grad school moron. I have trouble seeing how I'm "pidgeon holing" myself because I completed all my gen eds and math courses.

Holy kek, is this considered an insane amount of classes in muttland ? This is a pretty standart schedule for me.

>> No.9817468

>>9817211
OP people who are saying that's not a lot don't realize those are all very rigorous upper level chem classes, with labs, which both require at least a few hours per week of just work, not even studying.
going for PhD? BS chem is pretty worthless without it nowadays, same with bio

Still sounds better than engineering labs where we just spend 2 hours coding shit we could have done at home

lol, five classes and contemplating suicide, whether ironically or not.
Last spring, had six classes and four labs in a semester. Counting Student Gov, I was busy from 8am to 9pm every Wednesday. Fridays were nice though because it was a single class and the prof would occasionally cancel because people wouldn't show up.

Is this CEng with Geology? It doesn't make sense that you're on the third stage of Organic Chemistry when you're just starting Physical Chemistry

going for PhD for sure.

>>9817462
why do you instantly assume i'm american? post your semester schedule or fuck off.

>>9817662
no, i'm actually just a B.S. Chemistry major. The reason I'm taking organic 3 and physics concurrently is because I go to a small state college with not many chemistry majors. Organic 3 is only offered once every two years. So some kids get to take pchem before organic 3, but because I'm going to be a junior in the fall I have to take pchem and organic 3 at the same time.

Oh shit so you will spend 25 hours a week in class instead of 20, for one semester with weekends and summers off. It kills my soul how diluted uni education has become over the last 50 years.

GIS will take the most amount amount of your time, i say drop GIS, you'll be in the lab for that course for a good 15-25 hours every week and it won't be fun (extrmely boring)

99% of the idiots on here are low IQ LARPing as actually accomplished students. Those of us that have *actually* like, gone to school know this is a pretty killer schedule, esp with the labs. Good luck anon - just budget your time & commit to a min 2 hrs of study per course outside of classtime & you will be fine.

>> No.9821460

>>9821448
good post, also to add onto it, just dont fall behind. go over what the class was over, just your notes/maybe textbook, at least until you fully understand it. If you don't, ask the professor after class or email if that's appropriate. A lot of that stuff is basic but if you actually follow it, it becomes less of a burden and more of a fun challenge to learn a shitload really quick.
