>Are you implying that smart people get low grades?

Yes. Plenty of people with gifted/genius level IQs get subpar grades in high school due to boredom, social issues, depression or a variety of external factors.

School is a social setting. There are many things that can lead one to become disinterested in it, especially at 16-18 where the brain hasn't fully developed.

also ironically I completed half the mathematic courses of the whole program (all the courses until I left) but I struggled as fuck even in experimental physics one

the whole curriculum was a fucking assrape, we were supposed to apply methods from analysis we'd actually take weeks later in calc

I still have ptsd from myl first exam in ex physics I, we practiced some pretty level headded stuff in kinetics, the kind the example book has from beginnig to intermediate level. Okay I had to learn path integrals and stuff in advance but no problem. The exam had one question, something from the absolute end intended for those going into university olympiad, you were supposed to describe a function of some shit advancing in an expanding spilar. Half the class just gave in empty papers.

This kind of bullshit kept repeating and weeding out people every semester until I gave up at the end of 2nd year.

Fucking waste of 3 years for nothing.
