Is it true /sci/? Can you change your preferences, stop procrastinating and become a hard worker just by putting yourself in a "adapt or perish" mode for barely a week or two?

Some what factual although some of the statements the OP in pic related uttered do sound ludicrous and illogical. I mean a week is too short of a time span to experience any substantial neurological change.

Try to change a wild animals preferences

You can minimise their access to their preference and provide a new routine but I think you'd still find they'll try the old when exposed and then it's whether the new routine provides more dopamine etc than the old

Oh wow, so this guy basically writes 12 paragraphs to tell you

>hey dude, get really disciplined and cut out distractions for a week. It can help you get your head straight, and trick your brain into seeking new experiences when you deprive yourself of the old, comforting ones"

This is literally on par with nofap retards, or just telling someone to 'have discipline'. It's all just fucking platitudes at the end of the day that won't actually help. By the way, I've basically tried this same approach numerous times in my life in order to try to quit bad habits/find new, good ones. It basically results in me reading like 20-30 new books in a months span, which if you spend 30 minutes on /lit/ you'll realize that won't make you a happy or good person. If you learn a skill or meet new people during that free time, fine, but the whole "rewire your brain" thing is fucking bullshit. You'll go back to old habits within a month or a year, unless you just fucking will yourself not to do something, and deal with the anguish it causes you. People still have smoking cravings years after quitting, so it's not "just that easy" for something seriously addictive.

You should add something about not daydreaming and not being idle to your summary. That's really one of the most important takeaways because it's really easy to do especially when you suddenly have everything except a limited amount of immediate activities cut out. I find myself doing it even when I haven't cut out distractions. It's amazing how fast hours can pass. It's cancer.

The freemasons aren't a secret society. It's like a brotherhood or some AA reunion that you guys mystified. They put their symbols eveywhere and wear it as a ring, since it's not a secret society.

And the rest is bullshit. Stop embarassing by pretending you found a conspiracy.

They also tend to have powerful social connections with business tycoons and other elite figures. The rest of your comment is just fucking stupid and since you failed to give an opinion on the latter end of my post, I'll give you the same treatment.

>> No.9733550

Honestly yes. I did it. It's easy as fuck if you just sit down, plan a routine and stick with it. I started with something simple. I got up every single morning at 6 am and made myself an egg sandwich to start the day. Even if it wasn't my breakfast, I got my ass to at 6 and just did the damn thing. It took me longer than a week to adjust, but after a while, my body just expected me to get up at 6 and make a sandwich. Once I was up and going it wasn't too hard not to be a lazy shit. It's to the point now where I have pretty much my whole day planned to the half hour and I stick to this schedule religiously unless there is a need to deviate. Long story short, create structure in your life. Take literally an hour to sit down at Excel and plan out your day. Even if you start in chunks of 3 or 4 hours, you don't need an extremely detailed one. The main thing is to just stick with the schedule. We all know how it works, a lot ofnm us adjust twice a year to daylight savings. It only takes a couple of weeks of actively trying. After that it's routine.
