Alright boys recently turned 19. How do I improve my intelligence exponentially? I say i'm average.
Do I read 10,000 books related to anything /g/ related, physics books, math, you get the gist. Take shrooms? I don't know. Basically be considered
>200 IQ
I'm not saying IQ is real because some of you don't believe in it but to be put in the category of a Genius or like i'm a messiah or some shit compared to others.

Formal Logic/Mathematics is a good start but by no means the end. Simply 'training' or something doesn't work because you'll improve in a specific way and not in your brain in general. Though many things are applicable generally, that doesn't mean they improve your brain generally or that they apply to everything. The best way is to make sure you study and practice a broad range of things. Basically, be proactive in a variety of intellectual pursuits. Don't just do logic or mathematics. You shouldn't neglect artistic and athletic pursuits either, though they are secondary. Take up a sport and an instrument.

There is no quick trick, le epic lifehack to this, anon. The best way is to undertake every action and thought with complete mindfulness, attention, and diligency. Oftentimes people think in terms of end products instead of in terms of the very moment they're in, which is what you need to do if you are to succeed in anything beyond the minimum. Absorb yourself into the task. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mindfulness

Those are different to irregardless. They're blatantly odd or wrong to most English-speakers (those that define the language, not dictionaries, dictionaries reflect speakers), whereas there are plenty of mishaps in affixes in English. It's not unusual or illogical. Simple historical products that no one thinks twice about.

We should definitely foster grammatical consistency but not be dogmatic and delusional in denying the nature of language. Which is that, it's basically arbitrary and anything can appear as long as there is mutual understanding and use (or even when there's not, as many words/phrases are quite tentative in exactly how they can be used and what they mean).

>>9728145
Thanks for the data. But I'm a bit afraid of it, I mean, you said that "you will improve in a specific way". There is no possible way of doing everything, aren't there some activities that can help me in more than just the activity itself? Aren't there things to improve my brain generally?
I'm a computer science student and I love a lot of things like Psychiatry, Neurology, Quimic, Psychics, etc, but I can't learn everything it's impossible and that demotivates me.

Stay away from sugar
Walk every day
Don't drink or eat with public fluoridated water
Use distilled water whenever possible
(restaurants and food manufacturers often use public water)
Supplement with iodine (too many benefits to list here)
Modafinil is great for temporary mental cognitive boost
Puzzles
Mathematics

Avoid mercury tooth cavity fillings
No alcohol

Your first link is about sodium fluoride. The risks it lists are so severe, it's completely impossible for them to be true without the rapid decay of society. Also, 5-10g as lethal dose. The WHO recommends 5 mg/l, which means that you'd literally need to consume a metric ton of water to die from fluoride poisoning(if it was present in NaF form).

The second link (which you shouldn't have posted, you should have posted the source it refers to) contains a source, which hand-waves the statistics away.
>Confounding from other substances seemed unlikely in most of these studies

And says there's not enough data
>Further characterisation of the dose–response association would be desirable.

Meanwhile:
>Community water fluoridation and caries prevention: a critical review (page name, won't let me post link)

A good breakfast, playing Tetris, or simply taking the IQ test twice in a row, will increase your IQ by 10 points, so no, it's really not.

>>9727989
Nothing known to man is going to take you from normal to supra-genius. You might be able to increase your IQ test results that much, simply by practice, but there's nothing that's going to increase your actual intelligence that much.

Best you might be able to do is reach the top of a very narrow field either via practice (if it's the sort that works that way) or ludicrous degrees of dedication and research.

Ok, I’ve got a slightly more targeted question. How do I get gud at Algebra if I’m not naturally geared for it? I really want to be an engineer in the future, but it seems almost like I’ve hit a brick wall with my remedial Algebra class at the local JC. It definitely runs in the family, neither of my parents are math people, but I’ve also got extended family who got up to university level calculus in high school. What are some study techniques or ways of thinking I can use to flip the switch in my brain so that I can start understanding this shit?

You can try that n-back game but it's really unclear if it actually increases IQ.

If you want to increase your memory, search mnemonics. That's the technique people use to remember a thousand digit number in hours. And to remember things in general.

What really does enhance cognitive functioning are nootropics but take them only if your brain has finished developing (usually past the age of 25). Also, be okay with some negative effects; they are new so the research is just not comprehensive yet.

Could be better or could be worst, the research is not there. But if you're going to experiment with something as new as nootropics, it's better to be risk averse. You're risking impairing your cognitive abilities long term for the short term gain.

For example, nootropics could prevent your brain from making certain pathways during the development stage, thus resulting in permanent light brain damage. But if your brain is fully developed any negative effects that these drugs have (if any) will probably not be permanent or irreversible.

Anyways, I'm 19 too, waiting for my brain to stop developing until I try taking these nootropics. And in 6 years time, there's a lot of new research that can come out in regards to the effects of these drugs.
