At least math and physics majors are legit smarter than me. CS majors? They're retards in the nerdiest possible field in the world. I could do CS too, but I'd blow my brains out from embarrassment before I got through an intro class. What a bunch of virgin losers.

Is it REAAAAALLLLYYYY as bad as u fags say? I might be moving to Austin and UT happens to be like no. 1. Is that itself evidence of its pleb tier, that some random state school is the best? Would i be throwing away money to get the degree from the no.1 institution?

Don't take the memes too seriously you insecure faggot. If you're good at CS, it's fine and useful and a great field to get into. The reason it gets made fun of is because some retard will barely get a CS degree from a shitty school and then come on /sci/ like he's hot shit. If you're legit passionate about it and able to go to one of the best schools then it's fine.

A have a CS degree and have a 8 year career doing DevOps.

In my opionion CS degree makes you more efficient because you can think under the layers of abstraction. You don't get caught in the trial and error shit that the uninformed go through and it's typically easier to pick up things that have been abstracted away due to an intuitive understanding of the layers below. I usually out troubleshoot career developers becAuse they dont understand actually how systems integrate.

Really when you think of a code monkey, you think of a shit Dev that is pounding away just trying different shit until something works.

That's not to say CS is a difficult degree. It's pretty easy.

I suppose with any field, it is the scientific foundation (however dense or sparse) that helps you grok the applied portions of it.

In a side note, my balls really stink. I should go take a shower.

Arguably. If it's easy for you, try getting top grades. If you take at least a semi-active role in your own education, a CS degree can be useful and challenging.

I'm a first year cs major and took my discrete final today. Main problem was the Chinese professor couldn't teach worth crap. Just crap PowerPoints and she didn't teach from the book.
