Scientifically speaking, how many fully grown adult human males of above average physical conditioning would it take to kill a 600kg fully grown Kodiak bear in a purely physical fight with no weapons?
And how do I get funding for such an experiment?

When they attack the bear together they might last a minute or two. But I wouldn't put any money on it.

What are you gonna do, poke it in the eye?

100 guys guys can take turns in 10 jumping on it, punching it's head, eyes, and trying to strangle it. I reckon by the 10th wave, the bear will be dead.

1 human. bears are bitches. they will run from humans. humans are king of long distance runner. bear will fall over dead from exhaustion long before a human will. bear doesnt sweat. bear has permanent winter coat. bear cant cool down. human doesnt even have to touch bear.

Kodiaks and Polar bears are not pussies.
No human can outrun a bear.
A big kodiak can run at 40mph..

Depending on the environment the bear may overheat killing all those humans
but the scenario is kind of strange because the bear has weapons but the humans don't
if the humans have obsidian knives to match the bear's builtin armament the fight won't require 100 men to die

The difference is that the bears weapons are part of its physical structure. It's only fair that the men only use what is physically part of them.

the human brain is physically part of them too and in this case the humans are being denied the ability to use it.
even without weapons the humans could lure the bear into a trap or make him fall off a cliff roadrunner style, roll a rock off a precipice onto his head or make a pit full of sharp spikes.
The bear can do none of this because his brain works like an old adventure game where you have buttons for "sniff - bite - rub ass against - smack with paw"
it's like pitting a bear against a great white shark but saying the shark isn't allowed to use the water and the bear isn't allowed to use the land so you drop them both out of an airplane at 35,000 feet

Humans out run virtually every other species on the planet over long distances, it was our primary evolutionary advantage.
