>mfw have an IQ of 123
My verbal and short term memory brought my overall score down.
I am forever cursed to be inferior to everyone with an IQ above 123.

That's not even the real Dunnung-Kruger effect graph. In the actual study, it was a line steadily increasing around the 50th percentile. In other words, people, on average, view themselves near average, even if they are very high or very low in ability.

And you can trust me, because I have great verbal memory.

How much "knowledge in field" is each person born with? Maybe I misinterpreted you.

Not only that but you will also seem stupid to people much more stupid than you. Verbal ability and memory are the most important when interacting socially. People are shallow and mostly just judge each other on memory and vocabulary.

Experience was never measured in the actual study. They did various g loaded tests and graphed perceived ability to actual ability. Pic related. Here is a link if you want to read it for yourself: http://psych.colorado.edu/~vanboven/teaching/p7536_heurbias/p7536_readings/kruger_dunning.pdf

It makes sense though. People seem relate to one another through projection, and as a result, they assume that most people are similar to them, thereby them near the 50th percentile.

But then why would the brainlets rate themzelves so high? Surely they're not surrounded by the second quarter.

there is no such thing. some students simply decide they don't want to keep going. they find it easier to fake a failure story than to tell the truth.

As soon as you have seen some made up fancy pants PhDs who sprout buzzwords but know nothing, you start questioning the value of the degree. Then you realize how much trouble a career in academia is. You literally have to research in your spare time because of all the other duties.

Then you might as well fail, instead get some time/money efficient job and do research in your spare time.

Dunning-Kruger is bullshit (but true to an extent) and people just say it to sound smart nowaday.
And IQ doesn't define you desu, your achievements does
