Yeah. There are birds that kick out the eggs in the nest of the smaller bird, lay their egg, and the smaller bird raises it thinking its hers.
It obviously doesn't happen all the time though because then they would go extinct. But it does occasionally.

One: That is a different species. It's a European Cuckoo. They're a brood parasite. Brown-headed Cow Birds do this in the U.S (and are a huge problem; i.e. "problem native species")

Two: I've dissected a bird before and I still can't quite grasp what's going on there. Basically a hawk ate it's neck, but apparently managed to leave the spine, trachea and esophagus intact.

Also, have some Secretary Bird.
