How the fuck does an inanimate object have a mind of its own? It is just a bunch of ions, chemicals and other shit yet it literally somehow evolved in such a way that it can interact with itself, and it can create its own world and experiences based on coded data it gets. Someone explain where sensory and the mind come from physically. You are not actually a "soul" or some type of being that exists outside of the physical world, you are an AI that can somehow manifest into another plane called "the sensory plane" in order to take control of the environment for evolutionary purposes.

You see, the brain is just regular matter like everything else, but it has arranged itself in such away as to purposefully create the illusion of existing as its own entity with will so that way it can act in a certain way.

How then can it impose things onto some strange type of sensory plane? It is confusing...

Does this mean that literally everything in the universe can "feel" as the brain is nothing more than the same matter as everything else.

Isn't the brain just a thing that reorganizes itself based off of stimulation?

Everything does that. If you throw a rock at a pile of rocks, it will reorganize.

If you throw a bunch of photons at an eyeball, the brain will reorganize it's neurons. Same with vibrating air molecules from the ear.

That in itself is not the amazing part. The amazing part is the ongoing reorganization e.g speciation.

Trace it all back the the most simple organisms and it all begins to make sense.

It's mindblowing, but it makes more sense.

>How the fuck does an inanimate object have a mind of its own?
The same was as it has any other complex property - through the interaction of it's parts.

The brain isn't inanimate though?

The mind-blowing part is that the brain can actually feel, it's the only thing in the universe as far as we know, that can feel pain and happiness, how is THAT possible? It's just the brain that can feel it, that's all we can confirm.

The neurons on your skin don't feel pain, in fact, you can even feel things from phantom limbs because all feeling comes from the cerebral cortex somehow, Anesthesia can work on the skin because it prevents the skin from ever sending a signal to the brain in the first place, and therefore it can cause motion or motor issues as well.

Ah yeah mate, totally!!! The brain is just [reductionist thing that only a retard would say]!!!! We did it, R*ddit!

there's a reaction to extreme heat that moves your muscles without ever contacting the brain
these signal only goes to the spinal cord and back

I mean, as in, it's made out of the same matter as everything else, but it is arranged somehow that it created its own "world" or "mind" and it can somehow see things in a way that is different from a camera. Your personal vision is manifested by your brain's mechanisms, but it is somehow diferent from a camera because you can acutally "see" it projected somewhere.

Feels are just an abstraction, a complex sequence of neurons connected together, our counsciouness lives in that abstraction, it does not see the world by itself, it lives in a simulation produced by the brain.

Yes, but in order to feel the heat the signal must go to the brain, it is possible to react fast enough that you don't feel the heat until later.

Two signals get sent in that situation, you get sent back and then you feel the heat.

Pain is registered somewhere in the midbrain (which is technically part of the spinal chord) according to cia doctors

People's consciousness and awareness correlate with how many complex signals are being sent throughout the brain, so that is possible.

I'm gonna utter my woo theory:

"Will to equilibrium" is an inherent constant within the universe. Organisms and atoms and societies alike all work towards equilibrium: atoms want to have a certain number of electrons, women want to have a good mate, men want to be welcomed by his interests, societies want social well being; organisms want homeostasis.

Metabolism is a good strategy developed by this will to equilibrium because it makes it more probable that homeostasis will be kept for longer periods. Mind is one of the strategies made up by the organism to create better strategies to achieve equilibrium, and maintain it.

Ok, so im a salesman and what Ill do a lot of time to get the customer going is I tell them what they are feeling. It sounds strange but I tell them the road is smooth and I tell them the seat is comfortable around their back, I just add "right?" To the end of the statement. Sure enough they become convinced that the ride is smooth, the seat fits their back nicely and so on. Thats what your brain does except its telling itself everything it feels and basically telling the projection of itself "right?"
