You want the philosophy course next door. Modern psychology doesn't touch this stuff.

Psychology is not a science.

It has even less to do with medical practice.

Psychology, these days, is most concerned with mechanisms to adjust your internal monologue so as to best adapt you to functional member of the society in which it is practiced. Removing self-defeating belief systems thus adjusting behavior that prevent said, and the like.

You might have seen some talk like this among proto-psychologists of yesteryear, but Freud has very little to do with modern psychology, and Jung was never a psychologist at all. OP's line seems to be born out of some sorta 1950's Warner Brothers cartoon concept of what psychology is about.

Psychology is certainly much more art than science, even when it comes to behavioral psychology, but it doesn't concern itself with the deeper questions of "identity is an illusion", and why it exists, and so on and so forth. Those are questions Philosophy asks. Psychology would instead ask questions such as how we redirect your emotional energies to something more constructive than video games and masterbating.

I was one. All they do is circlejerk the scientific method while conducting useless behavioral experiments that could be of no possible use, then sucking someone's dick and using mommy and daddy's money to get that article into a journal.
