1) general agreement among specialists in the field that the claim is correct,

There is a consensus of climatologists that global warming is real, man-made, and a serious danger. There is no consensus of the scientific community that climatologists could tell their ass from a hole in the ground.

The actual science and simulation was all figured out elsewhere and just ported into the game. When the star catalog is updated, space engine updates to match. When a new astrophysics discovery is made, space engine is again updated to match. It isn't simulating the universe, it is modifying a simulation to mirror the universe. Space engine doesn't predict where new planets will be found, ACTUAL simulators do that.

Yes he did, he just carefully worded his denial to make it sound like a "moderate" stance.

Claiming that "the climate has always been changing" is deliberately misleading - it's technically true, but obscures the rate of change, which is what is important. The"not spectacular" approaches he advocates for aren't nearly sufficient, and only address the symptoms and not the cause. He admits "we're having some impact on the climate", but ignores that the impact is close to 100% of the observed changes.

Limiting changes is difficult and expensive; further, it is difficult to evaluate. Limiting damages is easy to do, easy to evaluate, (relatively) inexpensive, and needs to happen anyways.

Carbon is used in the construction of shells, most shelled organisms have stronger shells even at 900ppm co2 levels (200 year predicted levels). You dont really start seeing problems for most of them untell you reach the ludicrous levels of 2800+ ppm of co2, even then some species (like crabs and lobsters) thrive with the strongest shells ever seen.
