Brainlet here, How can I use crispr and edite my genes and how much will it cost me ?

>> No.9663895

Buy a home crispr DIY kit and experiment on things not human. You have to walk before you can fly.

Plasmids, they're used a lot in genetic engineering in vivo and getting them to actually work is a pain in the ass because they fail to reach their destination or the cell digests them thinking its bacterial DNA.

Why they are using E. coli bakeries? It could be dangerous as hell if you're doing something wrong u could create pathogenic bakteries...

Look, this technology is decades away. Don't even know what all the genes do. We don't even have an exact count of how much genes are in humans.

Even if we knew some of the genes, we would need to know exactly what they do, including how other genes affect them. From gene to protein, there is a lot of things that affect that processing. There's post transcriptional modification. There's proteins that need to get modified by other enzymes and proteins before they are functional. There is just too much we need to decipher before we can "edit" people.

I don't think they always eat the plasmids though. They sometimes integrate it, right?

Biochemistry/Molecular Bio brainlet here. Chemical techniques are required to get eukaryotic cells to take up a plasmid. Now because I'm still inexperienced and young I cannot tell you whether any of them other than certain cancerous cell lines willingly express them. Also, human cells won't share the plasmid like bacteria can.

And to that end, "We don't know how much genes are in humans" might be a correct sentence, in the same way that I don't know how much tires are in Walmart. They might be 20.99, or 60.99. I wouldn't know.
