On the other hands marxist theory is very well respected and hard thing to learn that is very well regarded by EVERY SERIOUS THINKER IN THE WORLD.

Marx to economy is like plato to philosophy, you may not like it but you cant deny hes an important genius figure.

That being said, the "genius" part of his work is describing how the capitalist system works, the part about what should be done about it (communism) is obviously not widely agreed upon.

The point wasn't that _any example_ of a hierarchy is immediately attributable to differences in competence, but that when all other factors of life (education, culture, class, etc) are flattened out, the effect of the distribution of hierarchy maximizes. In attempting to make a more equal society, you reveal underlying differences in humans which were previously masked by external factors. And no, before you accuse me of being alt-right, this isn't about race. This is more basic than race, sex, or any other group classification. Differences in competence exist across the board, even in the most homogeneous of groups, which lead to hierarchy.
