There are a number of ways blacks clearly excel over other races, and others where they are worse off than other races. Right now, blacks are being used as a political pawn for unknown reasons, and so their profile in media is much higher than other races. This tends to bias people's perception of the role of black people in general. Even within the black world, there must be differences between different black ethnicities.
