ITT: we come up with or recite ideas of how to go to mars and/or colonize the moon

My idea for moon colonization=we use gaint electromagnetic accelerators(AKA railguns)
to cheaply launch building supplies to the moon(cheaper still if room tempature super conductors are ever made).
Then use robots to build a colony/base.

Idea for mars:Use railgun launchers on the earth to launch supplies into space for a station much bigger then the ISS.
Then use that station to construct robotic ships to go to mars, using A railgun on the station(shoot it in a way so it wont mess up the orbit).
Use those robots to build a similar station in mars orbit and on the ground to prepare for human exploration/colonization.

It's plausible to use mass accelerators to launch them out to orbit and then use conventional rockets propulsion for the rest of the way. Most of our problems is getting off of earth anyway.
