Hi, /sci/ I am retarded when it comes to interpreting word problems how to get good at reading and understanding them, can do all the calculus for them and shit but can't comprehend for shit.

Identify what they're asking for in terms of a variable, and what variables you know. Identify equations or methodology that gets involves your known's and target variables. After that, visualisation is the most important thing so draw a diagram of the problem in as much detail as necessary.
Take out your text book or find some example problems online and do this for them. Your problem is familiarity, and that only comes through repetition.

Start with easy word problems for practice ("easy" is relative, look for what you can solve but takes you a moment to do so, don't be ashamed about whatever level you are at), take notes, sometimes you can use the context of the problem (is it in a chapter on a certain method/formula) to know what they want you to do. Sometimes rephrasing stuff in your own words can help with understanding.
