Are there retarded people in prestigious universities such as MIT? I went into first year eng expecting everyone to be at least slightly above average intelligence but some people are actually straight up retarded. It baffles me that some of these people managed to get 90+ in high school. Yes, I'm aware how easy high school is but this is my verdict after taking that into consideration. This begs the question, are there people with sub 120 iq roaming the campuses of higher tier universities as well?

No matter how selective your school is, there's always gonna be at least half of astro-retards who just were lucky.

Don‘t be too quick to judge. There are different aspects of intelligence and other things than intelligence can also count a lot when asking the question if someone really knows his stuff or if someone could contribute to a field.

But some people straight up can't integrate a basic function AFTER taking calculus I in highschool and in first semester engineering. I don't understand what aspects they can possibly excel in in a major dedicated solely to sciences and maths.

Those people will almost certainly switch their major soon.
