Are there any empirical studies that support Psychology?

A lot of it feels like total bullshit designed by people that barely understand themselves.

It's so hard to have any semblance of faith in any of it because of this.

No, in fact the opposite

this shit still getting posted
when that study itself has been debunked

the issue of psychology and all "human sciences" like sociology and political science and economics is that they rely too heavily on an informal fallacy.
It s not really their fault however. Its just the nature of MANY people that they prefer to be given simple sweeping solutions, or theories to help them understand.
You start adding caveats, and exceptions, and a bunch of these "special cases" and they get confused.

So when behaviorism says it ALL a response to stimulus
or when the cognitive psychologist says that ALL brain system are "computational" and can be under stood in flow charts
and Freudians say ALL development is sexual
no doubt some naysayer will dig and scrape through all those cases. to Prove them wrong, and then they scramble to do mental gymnastics in order to fit a square peg into a round hole.
then that's where they shoot themselves in the foot.

people want simple answers to complex problems
and human behavior is complex and always adapting.
