4th dimension is time.
Technically the 1st dimension is time but people are brainlets and didnt realize it took "an amount of time" to plot a 3d object, so we'll just say the 4th dimension is time.

Yes. For example a video or an animated gif has 4th dimension information. You cant show the contents of the gif or video by only showing a single freeze frame slice of it as a snapshot.

OP was very obviously talking about a fourth dimension of space, you pedantic idiot

Depends on where the 4th spatial dimension leads.
Are there suns and planets there?
Could you survive there? Lisa Randall (physicist) thinks physical constants would change. See her book "Warped Passages".

Or did you mean "traveling through the 4th dimension and coming back into our own space somewhere far away?"
Why do all SF stories assume distances are shorter though "hyperspace"? Except for the obvious "It's a kludge to get around the lightspeed limit."
Why shouldn't the metric be longer in hyperspace? Or even the same?

Given time is the 4th dimension, an entity existing on a higher plane than us would be able to perceive and manipulate it the same way we manipulate 3 dimensions; that we may pick up an object and move it elsewhere, or freely move from x to y, they would be able to take a slice of time and move it elsewhere, and freely move from v to w.

But if time is the slice you can't comprehend in a more intelligble way, what would the slice be that they cannot intelligibly comprehend? What is the 5th dimension?

5th dimenension is probably an alternate dimension where the first 4 can coexist without invalidating each other. If a 4th dimensional entity can freely move through time it might be a real problem that violations could occur in a lower dimension, so they don't end up doing anything but observing. Maybe many UFO's have simply been these entities, and most UFO sightings really dont go anywhere beyond "sighting", these things aren't coming down and shooting lasers to blow up people. They could be from another time and can observe but not actionably influence any reaction, even to the point of making no sound and vibrations - just bright orbs of light silently darting around. So a 5th dimension might exist that treats these things without worry, that a 4th dimensional empowered entity can go from v to w and mess around with x and y while x, y, z and w would continue to coexist, that an object A existing at (1,1,1,1) could be intentionally selected and moved to (3,3,3,2) so that two identical object A's exist in (w=2) at (1,1,1,2) and (3,3,3,2), or moving object A from (1,1,1,1) to (1,1,1,3) may cause some unimaginably goofy thing to happen.

i imagine it would be messy.

(float x, float y, float z, float w, boolean h, boolean b)
could programmatically emulate this. For h is true, the movement occurs along the w axis, for h&&b is true, the movement copies x,y,z from past.w to future.w, for h is true & b is false, the movement removes x,y,z from [math]\sum_{n=past.w}^{n\rightarrow future.w-1} past.w+n[/math] to move through w without influencing x,y,z
for h is false, movement occurs in x,y,z,w as we know it, for h&&b is false, the movement occurs on x,y,z in w[math]\nless || \ngtr[/math]n akin to instantaneous teleportation.

What would be the valid reasoning for copying something from the future to the past vs simply moving something from the future to the past?
if we treat w like xyz, thats more like asking what is the reason for moving something at (0,0,0,0) to (1,1,1,1) to (3,3,3,2) then "back" to (1,1,1,3), but what about then moving from (1,1,1,3) to (4,4,4,1)? Copying would violate causality but moving would make the w events look like (0,0,0,0),(4,4,4,1), so would (3,3,3,2),(1,1,1,3) still occur as of w=1 was a spliced frame from a different film ala fight club, or would w=2 and w=3 split off into seperate timelines?
(0,0,0,0),(1,1,1,1),(3,3,3,2),(1,1,1,3),(4,4,4,1)
[math]\prec\longrightarrow[/math](4,4,4,1), . . .
what is the enclosed loop block? Does is register as knowablex recordable memory in the lower dimensions? Could lower dimensional entities remember (1,1,1,1),(3,3,3,2)(1,1,1,3) happening, or would they only recall (0,0,0,0),(4,4,4,1)?

Is this fucking erasing time?
does this fucking happen?
