Leaving them aside, theories which allow tachyons are usually rejected because they invariably contain situations where the probability of an event occurring (adding up the probabilities of all the ways it MIGHT occur) comes out greater than one.
That's absurd. One means it's dead certain to happen. Greater than one is mathematically meaningless.

Nothing in this chart says there are alternate universes. Cyan just means that stable orbits don't exist if the force-laws had an exponent significantly different from "2". Which is what the OP asked. Right here in our own Solar System, we'd notice the deviation if gravity varied as the inverse "2.00000001" power. In fact, we DO notice in the case of Mercury. That's what causes the Einsteinian precession.

Red means there'd be an insufficient number of forces to allow complex structures. Atoms clump into molecules because opposed attractive and repulsive forces create a potential-minimum at certain spacings between the atoms.

Nothing about any gods required. The mathematics just fails to produce a consistent system if you don't assume "3+1". We don't know why, but we're working on it. Einstein (who most certainly did NOT believe in an anthropomorphic god) was speaking metaphorically when he asked if "god had any choice in the way he built the universe." He was certain the answer was "no". We'll know we've got the theory right when all other possibilities can be ruled out. That's one of the chief objections to String Theory. The equations have too many possible solutions.
