Any logical affirmation has to be scientifically, logical or mathematically verified to be accepted as certain of truth.

>certain of truth

That only exists in mathematics and mathematics alone.

Good point. But that's what Comte said. We can use other terminology. But I guess the point is clear enough.

I guess the big one was that the claim
"Any logical affirmation has to be scientifically, logical or mathematically verified to be accepted as certain of truth."
has no scientifically, logical or mathematical way to verify it.
Quine, Reichenbach and Sellars did some good criticisms

Under this philosophy of knowledge it is not sufficient to prove the affirmation as a truth.

I think the sheer number of times positivists have gotten shit wrong and passed it off as truth are the most important critics of positivism.
Granted, non positivists have gotten shit wrong too. Probably more so than positivists.
But the problem is still that positivists are so far up their own assholes, they can't ever admit they need reason to interpret facts. And that their own reason might be fallible.
This debate has been going on for a long time, there is no clear answer despite people wanting there to be one.

You know, even positivists today don't get too much attachment to the notion of truth. Mostly they decided empirical adequacy is the best you can hope for.
