Yes, but he presented his argument in LaTeX, so it must be legit. I suppose you *could* present a counter-example to the Riemann Hypothesis by scribbling down a non-trivial zero of the zeta function whos real part does not equal one half on a piece of paper, but who would want to be so plebian about it?

I for one support the notion that all works of genius be submitted on a soiled napkin. I imagine Perelmen's proof of the Poincare conjecture was initially scribbled on a cum-stained bedsheet.
