This book for my Intro to Abstract Algebra 1 class isn't very good. Does anyone have any books or texts they like/recommend for introductory Abstract Algebra?

because one should be well acquainted with nice rings like Z, polynomial rings, etc.

Real majors use D&F

Nah, by the time you can understand D&F it's a waste of time going through shallow, general algebra books like D&F instead of a proper book on group theory, a proper book on ring theory etc.
