If an isolated guy with average intelligence (100 IQ or whatever) is given absolute immortality and infinite time how far can he go in terms of mathematical discovery? State your assumptions if any. You can also discuss any other discoveries he may make in other fields of science, but I'm more interested in the maths stuff.

Bump. Also feel free to share your opinions or ideas no matter how brief it may be.

Don't tell me what to do, faggot

I think he could discover everything that we did. But he'll need a "little" more time.

I just realise something.
>guy has bacteria in his faeces
>find a way to culture the bacteria (using semen maybe)
>watch as the bacteria evolve into more complex organisms
>bacteria evolves into multicellular organism
>multicellular organism evolves into monkey like animal
>monkey like animal develops into hominid like animal
>human like creature evolves
>humanoid develops culture and science
>humanoid able to roam the stars
>humanoid able to discover the mysteries of the universe
>all this thru the guidance of the lone man

All he need to do is cum on his poop

It's an infinite amount of time, anyone will discover everything through logical deduction or simply guessing.

A toddler will also do the same given an infinite amount of time.

wasn't there an xkcd about this

There is a fundamental limit in human memory, and if he gets tired sufficiently long theorems would become statistically more difficult to properly resolve.

However, calculating where lies that limit sounds like a severe pain in the nethers.

He will produce an infinite amount of faeces

He will probably become depressed due to the isolation and achieve nothing.

this. it's honestly a hellish scenario

Does he have materials to build/record with?

Seems like a pretty big factor

Given an infinite space of time the isolated guy will discover as much as his intellectual capacity allows him to discover, or more if he somehow creates a machine/organism that had higher capacity for intellectual pursuits
