Too many problems: sociology and psychology of long space travels,space suits, non-use of nuclear energy to travel in space, food and water learned (9 months to drink piss and to eat lyophilized rations).

This is a lot harden than simply sending people there and keeping them alive for 2 years. A colony needs to be self sufficient.
And I'm not talking about being self sufficient simply for survival like food. That's just the basics, a colony needs to be able grow without being to reliant on Earth

Just think about what it would take to build new housing modules, solar panels and electronic parts, ect... without supplying them from earth.

It's a fucking dessert we hardly know anything about. Where are you gonna start digging and with what tools, how are you gonna refine it and how are you gonna manufacture it into a finished product.
