What is 0.999... + 0.111...?

Look, if you're still going to troll or act retarded, that's fine.
- Swear
- Ad hominem; Call people names
- Don't provide counter-arguments
- Reject realism and the scientific consensus
That's ok.
Just don't loop.
Looping is cancer.

Personal incredulity and the argument from ignorance are fallacies. You're ignorant.
You imply you have no knowledge of the other kinds, therefore they don't exist.
That is wrong irrational.
:D

9/9 + 1/9 = 10/9 = 1.111...

>> No.8900334

if you're right then the reals aren't complete, since the sequence 0,9 0,99 0,999 0,9999... won't converge to 1 or any real number smaller than 1... Banach spaces BTFO, quantum physics BTFO

1/3 + 1/3 + 1/3 = 1

1/3 = 0.333....

3/3 = 0.999.... = 1

You are wrong.

0.999...=1 is true by the definition of the real numbers.

>>8900452
Idiotic picture nothing of that makes any sense, they are all basically assuming the hypothesis to show that it is true.

x does not exist for 0.999... < x < 1

>> No.8900923

>>8900268

I don't even get the question

Repeating numbers don't exist in the real world. You can't have .333333 of something. You can have 3 of something or 4 of something. You can take something and cut in into thirds, so you have 1/3 of something. In the real world expressing something as a repeating decimal does not make sense. So the question feels irrelevant.

now just subtract 1 from 1.1111111 and now you have 1, which implies 0.99... = 1

>> No.8901205

x = 0.999...
10x = 9.999...
10x-x = 9.999...-0.999...
9x = 9
x = 1
