No way the average physicist student is smarter than Einstein.
Einstein beat Hilbert in the formulation of Special relativity and constructed General relativity which is a lot about math.
He was a mathematician by training the nevertheless top notch.

I disagree. The average physicist college undergraduate today might know more than Einstein did, but I doubt they are smarter than he was and able to come up with theories and solve equations and process information the way he did.
