The solution to Fermi's paradox is that travelling at even 1% of the speed of light is impractical: It means surviving the journey is unlikely, and to do it a planet needs incredible infrastructure (antimatter generation, a magnetic rail, or something for transmitting energy to the spacecraft).

Beginning to create an AI of your likeness will be possible within a decade, but conventional immortality is unlikely to come within the lifetimes of those under 30.
