Hi /sci/
I never applied myself in school. It was easy for me to skate by in all of my classes. Make special note of my lack of application in the beautiful subject of mathematics. I moved to a different state when I was younger and was entered into the math class a grade ahead of mine, while already I was the youngest kid in my intended class. (I was moved back after they realized they goofed, but the damage had been done) This paired with terrible teachers moving forward FUCKED my understanding of math big time.

In front of me now is an opportunity with my current job to move from technical support for a software company to software development. I have personal aspirations to learn for Virtual Reality applications.
I need to learn Comp Sci first.

I've done my research. I'm taking cs50, with many courses lined up. I'm studying Basic Mathematics by Serge Lang.

Any words of advise for taking this immense project on and propelling my life into my next chapter? Any resources that aren't in the sticky, or easily found?

TLDR- Math understanding is shit from upbringing, opportunity to excel my life via comp sci - need to learn a metric fuck ton of things.

Help me level up.

No it didn't because you don't learn shit in grade school math.

A valid point.

I guess I'd say I learned that math was confusing rather than learning fundamentals and creating a foundation.

Not to say that is the proven cause, it is something I can definitely attribute to my lack of understanding when I look back on my journey though.

Don't you need actual qualification for a job?
Nigga get the fuck back into college, then uni, then you're sorted.

My self learning will be my qualification. I have a path ahead of me given that I keep my education up. I am starting behind the curve surely, at 23 years old.

They wanted to send me to a janky community college to learn but there are far better resources online to learn, and I don't want to sacrifice my neenja training time.
