How do I know if I am smart enough to become an engineer? Is there some kind of qouta you can compare yourself to? Is it enough to have good grades in maths and physics? Help me so I don't waste my life the coming five years and become a shit engineer.

You will know within the first year at university if you have what it takes.

Any decent school will have some good filter courses in each major designed to knock out the people who obviously shouldn't be there.
