I'm horrible at math and I use my fingers to count. I suck at division and it takes me awhile to solve what should be simple shit. I use a calculator for most of my math shit and I feel like a retard. How do I up my math skills?

You may not be able to. What youse describing sounds like discalcula, or the inability to do quick mathematical calculations in your head. It's a lot like dislexia. It doesent men you're dumb, it just means a specific part of your brain isn't working right.

If you're otherwise smart then don't worry to much about it, just carry around a calculator.

I do this too and I study pure mathematics. My strongest field is number theory.

Just get over yourself. Who the fuck cares.

Memorize times tables up to 10 and it'll be much easier.

Arithmetic is a small part of what you should be worrying about.

Everyone does.

Just one of those things that gets used so little in actuality

Taking your time with math is a good thing. Chances are that you are just as good at math as everyone else, you just need to make sure everything is accurate. Back when instructors didn't give partial credit to students, you would have been one of the very few to pass. If you wanna be faster, just believe in yourself and try to go with your gut without double checking.

Stop using a calculator and practise.
