Red pill me on Aubrey de Grey. Is he full of shit or will he actually reverse aging in 20-30 years?

>> No.8542392

Doubtful. It's not exactly an easy problem, and he doesn't have proper funding.

How could a crazy retard have proper funding to "defeat aging"?

Is he /our guy/

His anti-oxidants thing is kind of true? But also doesn't seem to actually work as well as he would have you believe. I think 20-30 years is doable, but not by him or his institute.

Bullshit pipe dream and human life extension will be slow progress.

We have zero progress on reversing aging and there is no motivation to fund it because anyone who would want to take advantage of it would be dead by natural causes before it could come to fruition, and somehow you think theres a timeframe for this science fiction concept?

>> No.8542587

How the fuck can we redpill him on you if we don't even KNOW yet if it's gonna work? There's no absolute consensus his stuff is bullshit or that it's guaranteed.

He is rich, he donated millions to his own foundation.

He's not the only one studying aging. loads of scientists are, not all of them are looking at it as a disease to be cured though.

He just came up with a different theory of aging and it kinda made sense but he didn't have a proper degree in biology so people got mad at him.

Still doesn't mean he's right. Don't get your hopes up.
