Why? Why is this world so unbalanced? How can some instagram whore get paid $50k per post just to hold some cup with "FitTea" on it, while engineers/physicists that reverse engineered universe and made CPUs/ signal processing possible earn that in their lifetimes in non 1st world countries??

I sucked at math and other real stuff so I ended up directing commercials for a living. I get 20-25k per shooting day and there are usually 2 shooting days per commercial. I usually direct about 10 commercials a year because I'm not a workaholic by any means. Do the math.

What a dumb conspiracy theory. Goverments are making the biggest push for STEM education and all media is trying to influence people to go to college. An abundance of STEM degrees is what the Government wants so they can find people who will take less pay and ignore ethical guidelines. This way their weapon research programs progress quicker and easier giving them more power.

Supply and demand. Entertainers are very "unique" or so people think. They provide immediate gratification to millions of people so economies of scale kick in big time. One guy singing at one event can rake in millions. Meanwhile scientists need 10-20 years of research to get one golden project that can be commercialized and earn then some cheese. This problem was discussed in my economics book.

However, certain fields require specialists whose skills are ultra rare, like a handful of people worldwide, those can earn you a huge paycheck.

tl:dr find a niche specialized field of science with less competition and earn big bucks
