Heard the occasional cigarette helps? Maybe a smoker can shed some light. Maybe not worth it if you can't control yourself too.

No, I really want to stay away from drugs like that. My dad used to be smoker and did drugs and alcohol, I am very worried that I have his genes for that, so I can't really risk it.

Dunno mate, that first sip of the day always leaves me feeling energetic

>> No.8432510

>>8432450
Dunno sleep good (twice if needed), check the vitamins and things people often lack (vitamin D if you don't get enough sun, magnesium, B12/omega3/calcium/some others). You don't have to be an energizer, you just have to do your work properly.

insulin resistance is real. a lot of things can make you feel sleepy after consuming caffeine.

next time try:
downing a good amount of water
going on a jog around the block and doing stretches

then drink a monster and you'll feel awake. your body isn't meant to be stimulated by chemicals like that

I've heard that it's wise to take breaks, but I've had an issue doing that recently.

All of my hobbies are mentally straining (e.g. Dwarf Fortress), the only thing I can think of which I'd consider to be a break but also wouldn't be a demand on my mind would be watching porn but sadly fapping drains you of your energy.

Any ideas /sci/? It's also probably worth noting that short, regular breaks are better for you than long, infrequent ones.

If I've had too much caffeine, or it just isn't doing anything for me, I like to drink something sour. If it's the right kind of sour, it's pretty good for keeping me alert. Tazo's passion tea works pretty well for me in that respect

fyi caffeine making you sleepy is associated with adhd.

Also the best way to not get sleepy is to get lots of sleep. If you fuck up and don't get enough and start to feel tired take a one hour nap.

The staying up to get more done and only getting 7 hours of sleep is a meme that needs to die. If you aren't getting 8-9 you are fucking up.

Drink water throughout study

Take a short 5 minute walk every 45 minutes to get the blood flow back into your brain

Get your sleeping pattern on track, don't rely on caffeine.

Exercise regularly, helps you wake up feeling fresh if you had a good amount of sleep.

First of all, it was a poor decision on your part to drink an "energy" drink when they really don't do shit and the placebo effect plays a part in it.

Try exercising for a bit before you study and drink a glass of water. A shower helps too.

>fyi caffeine making you sleepy is associated with adhd.
fyi adhd is an "illness" a lot of people make a lot of money with - while it barely exists at all (probably 1-5% of the people diagnosed with adhd actually have it).

It is totally normal to feel sleepy after consuming caffeine. In the Netherlands, people are used to drink coffee before going to bed for example. I doubt all those Dutch people are suffering from adhd.

>How do you study while remaining alert and energetic?
Get used to studying. Seriously. Get used to it. Like everything else it gets easier by routine.
Make sure you get a good amount of sleep at night. If you have problems to get it, make sure to do some sport... it will help.
Coffee is a nice thing to be eupeptic - if you need it to stay awake, there's a problem with your schedule and/or time management.
